History

Business builders.

It was back in the early twentieth century, in 1926, that Maurice Fournial founded a company bearing his name. He contributed simultaneously to Brittany’s economic development by creating one of the first French industrial estates in Rennes, with other members of the Chamber of Commerce.

This typically hard-headed Breton Group intends to remain stubbornly independent

Over sixty years later, in 1992, three investors joined forces to give the company a new boost. Michel Saulnier is now the CEO and commercial director, Maurice Cherruault is in charge of purchasing and Gilbert Leroy manages logistics.

Sterenn was created in 2000 to integrate and optimize the functional synergies of the four "sister" companies Fournial, PVP, MDS and FSI. It was during this period that the still family-owned group integrated an 18,000 m² logistics platform. Then came the first automated storage tools and computer-integrated material handling lines. In 2006, Sterenn opened up to the export market and in 2010 built a new 8,000 m² warehouse. Today, the Group's future is in the hands of a young CEO, assisted by a management committee.
